Material Families for Component Review
Stainless Steel and Duplex Components
Custom components in stainless steel, duplex and super duplex materials can be reviewed according to drawings and project documents. State the exact grade, required material condition and any specified standard. Material selection should be confirmed according to the service environment.
Nickel Alloy Components
Nickel alloy parts can be discussed for corrosive or high-temperature environments where specified by project documents. Include the required alloy grade, component form, service information and applicable document requirements; the material choice should be confirmed before quotation.
PH Stainless Steel, Titanium and Special Metals
Components in PH stainless steel, titanium and other project-specified metals should be reviewed with the drawing, material note and document scope. Availability depends on material availability, quantity and processing requirements.
Component Forms and Drawing Details
Drawing review may cover shafts, pins, sleeves, bushings, spacers, plates, blocks, connectors and project-specific hardware. Supply the dimensions that control assembly, including critical diameters, thicknesses, hole positions, threads and tolerances where applicable.
Machining, forging, forming or fabrication requirements can be discussed from the drawing. The exact production route should be confirmed before quotation according to geometry, material, quantity, finish and inspection requirements.
Material Identity and Document Scope
Provide the exact material grade, applicable standard and any required condition or treatment stated by the project. Equivalent designations should be confirmed before quotation instead of being treated as automatic substitutes.
Identify any required material certificate, inspection note, traceability information or other project document. Certificate availability and inspection scope should be confirmed for the specific order.
RFQ Checklist
- Component name, drawing number and current revision.
- Drawing, model, sketch or sample reference when available.
- Exact material grade, standard and specified condition.
- Dimensions, critical tolerances, holes, threads and mating interfaces.
- Service environment or project requirements relevant to material review.
- Quantity by component and any repeat production requirement.

Questions Before Quotation
Can components be reviewed in different alloy families?
Yes. State the required material for each component. Material selection and availability should be confirmed according to the drawing, service environment and order requirements.
Can an equivalent grade be used?
Any equivalent designation or substitution should be confirmed before quotation against the specified material and project documents.
Are certificates or inspections included automatically?
No. State the required documents and inspection scope in the RFQ. Availability and scope should be confirmed for the order.
